New drug to help bone marrow patients

Australian researchers have developed a world-first blood test that could save the lives of tens of thousands of bone marrow transplant patients across the world.

Researchers have manufactured an antibody made from immunised mouse cells that tracks white blood cells, called dendritic cells.

Prof Hart said the complication was currently treated with drugs once it emerged but starting treatment earlier would build up the immune system, allowing the body to resist its onset.
