RIDOC launches TPCDS - a new data system

Its time to have the information sharing inside the Rhode Island Department of Corrections becoming a lot easier. With this new system functional and in place, all reentry efforts have taken up a giant leap forward as the new Transition from Prison to Community Data System (TPCDS) started functioning since the mid April as implemented by the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.

Its the Transition from Prison to Community Data System (TPCDS) which completely tracks all assessments as well as the program data for all the RIDOC’s sentenced inmates. It is to be noted that all funding and financial support for the TPCDS has been arranged and provided through federal grant money. This is a true multimillion dollar project.

In all the past, the RIDOC has been unable to coordinate good information sharing, and with that, there were lots of instances of volunteers, providers, as well as the staff working with the same inmate but not knowing what the other was doing. Its now the TPCDS which is web-enabled and with that this system will eventually be accessible by the service providers outside of the DOC as well.
