Defination of Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP)

Retinopathy of prematurity is a specific kind of disease of the human eyes that in fact affect the prematurely born babies. Special care needs to be given to such babies if they are found to have been suffering from the condition of Retinopathy of prematurity.

When the baby is found to have been suffering from the condition of Retinopathy of prematurity, then this condition can lead to blindness in most of the cases.

To prevent the baby from getting blindness due to the syndrome of Retinopathy of prematurity, it is most important for the parents of the baby to make a visit to the eye specialist or a child specialist and get the baby treated for the condition of Retinopathy of prematurity.
