Mediterranean diet reduces lung disease risk

A new research nas concluded that Mediterranean diet can reduce the development of progressive inflammatory lung disease (COPD) .

This research conducted in France studied the health of around 43,000 men, and explored their lifestyle, including drinking, smoking and exercise and other factors, including their diet habits and medical history.

The research has concluded that a mediterranean diet lowered the overall risk of developing COPD almost 50% as compared to the western diet.

COPD is the term that refers to serious conditions such as emphysema and bronchitis.
