Role of white blood cells in the immune system

White blood cells or leukocytes are the human cells that are a mojor part of the human blood.

White blood cells are produced in the bone marrow at a rate of about 1 billion cells per day. This process of generation of White blood cells in human body takes place throughout the life.

White blood cells help to defend the body against infectious disease and foreign materials as part of the immune system.
