Rare disease found in sheeps – ready for mass execution

Somewhere near Moorcroft a livestock owner will hand over all his flock of sheeps next week to the federal government for a mass execution.

The livestock owner will lose his herd because the whole heard tested positive for a rare strain of scrapie -- a disease found in sheep and goats that's similar to mad cow disease in cattle and chronic wasting disease in deer and elk.

Scrapie itself is rare in the United States. There are no known human health risks associated with scrapie.
