Russia building tunnel under Bering Strait

Time for Russia and USA to get closer. Russia has disclosed a plan to build a 64-mile tunnel under the Bering Strait to link it with North America that will cost overall for more than $1 billion per mile.

The concept is that the $65 billion tunnel would under the Bering Strait will allow high-speed railway lines, energy links and a fiber optic cable network.

Maxim Bystrov, who is deputy head of Russia's agency for special economic zones has said in an statement that this Bering Strait tunnel project would be a business project and will not be a political one in any case.
