Beidou Compass - Chinese GPS Satellite program - Big Dipper

China recently launched Beidou' or 'Big Dipper' which is its fifth satellite as part of China's ambitious global satellite positioning system known as Compass.

Beidou' or 'Big Dipper' satellite as part of Compass is China's latest effort in the direction of heading china's fast developing space programme.

Beidou' or 'Big Dipper' satellite was launched from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre.

The complete 'Compass' navigation system of China would include a total of five geostationary earth orbit satellites and 30 medium earth orbit satellites as said by China.
