Total knee replacement is safe as researchers say

It has been found that total knee replacement for most of the patient with end-stage arthritis is cost- effective, even for high-risk patients that are suffering from multiple medical problems as found by researchers that adapted a computer based model in order to compare the costs and benefits of living with end-stage arthritis or having a knee replaced finally.

It was found that the overall lifetime costs for the patients who didn't have total knee replacement averaged $29,000, compared with $41,500 for those who had their knee replaced. The cost effectiveness ratio for high-risk patients who had a knee replaced was $7,000/quarterly.
