Cousine Island introduces Seychelles White-eye

Cousine Island has made the successful introduction of Seychelles White-eye bird species after so many years of extensive hard work and intensive habitat rehabilitation efforts and initiatives taken by the Cousine Island for the same.

The White-eye introduction is a joint project between Cousine Island, the Island Conservation Society and The Ministry of Environment.

Difficult to follow due to the thick vegetation on the island and almost impossible to hear them calling through the cacophony of seabirds, the White-eye seem to be adapting well and are feeding on the berry bearing trees planted for them during the preparation months.
