Stroke Patients get Robotic Arm for Physical Therapy approved by FDA

It has been informed by Myomom that FDA has finally approved usage of strap-on robotic based arm, a true robotic arm that is made to help in restoring the function to an upper-extremity which has been disabled by a stroke in near or distant past.

Myomo is the company that has created these robotic arms and have informed that FDA has finally given approval for its e100 NeuroRobotic System based upon the series of clinical trials in which this device was found to be associated with overall 23% improvement in the functioning as measured by the stroke-disability scale to find the overall outcome of the use of these robotic arms.

This device does help the arm to move all across through a set of exercises and specific training process. The patients have to go through tasks based training such as grasping an object or raising the arm to and fro.
