Spatio-Temporal Epidemiological Modeler keeps diseases away
If you're an environmentalists or a medical practitioner, you must have heard about the new Spatio-Temporal Epidemiological Modeler system to keep and eye on regional and worldwide diseases and viruses. Its called as STEM
STEM is developed in the form of an open-source software that has been developed by the International Business Machines Corp that is IBM and the Eclipse Foundation to keep an eye on new diseases, viruses and bacteria spreading in different parts of the world.
The STEM application comes with a built-in geographical database for almost every country in the world and offers strategic information for community planners and government in order to user the STEM system to keep check on diseases and viruses.
The STEP system has extensive information about all country borders, the overall population of the regions, borders that are shared between two or more countries, interstate highways moving all across the states and the state highways conneting different states as well as the regional airports.
Came to know that Perak's Veterinary Services Department (VSD) as shown deep interest and keenness in this Spatio-Temporal Epidemiological Modeler (STEM) to help them to predict transmission of all kinds of dreaded disease all around.
