CPAP improves sleep in alzheimer patients with SRBD

Patients that are suffering from Alzheimer and SRBD which stands for sleep-related breathing disorder have a real bad time due to disrupted sleep almost every night that results in the form of increased nocturnal awakenings and this dramatically reduces the overall percentage of REM sleep in such patients.

In a recent research, CPAP has been confirmed to work positively and reduce the overall amount of time that is spent being awake during nights by such patients, and this works in the direction of increasing the overall time that the patient spent in deeper levels of sleep, and this indirectly improves the overall oxygenation.

In this research, it has been discovered that when treating the SRBD with CPAP, the treatment resulted in these patients in the outcome for spending less time awake during the night as well as the patients sleeping more and more deeper and healthily
