Memorial campaign for Cape Asbestos factory sufferers

A campaign is being launched for a memorial to the men and women who lost their lives due to Cape Asbestos factory is gathering pace.

It is not known exactly how many deaths have taken place due to working with asbestos at the Cape Asbestos factory, but hundreds are expected to have lost their lives.

Mesothelioma, being a completely incurable cancer caused by asbestos that can lie completely dormant for decades and can erupt and kill the patient, some cases are still being blamed on the Cape Asbestos plant, even though it closed 39 years ago.
