Cure for Huntington disease found

A new study has opened treatment possibilities for Huntington disease, a fatal genetic disease.

What is HD or Huntington disease?
Huntington's disease is a genetic disease or a genetic disorder that gets forwarded from a parent having this genetic disorder to their child. Huntington disease results in a variety of devastating symptoms that worsen as the disease progresses.

Each child of a parent with Huntington disease has a 50-50 chance of inheriting the Huntington disease gene, and therefore developing the Huntington disease.

In Huntington's disease, the first evidence of damage in the brain occurs in the part of the brain called the striatum; D1 and D2 neurons constitute 90 percent of neurons in the striatum.
