IPN virus - the Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis in fishes - with human beings

A fish virus that is referred to as Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis or simply IPN virus was reportedly identified recently in the samples of trout that were taken from hatchery on the Connetquot River State Park Preserve on Long Island.

Regarding IPN virus, there are no historicall known health threat to humans that have taken or have consumed fishes infected with IPN virus, but it is a fact that IPN virus is considered a highly serious fish disease that is truly capable of causing extensive deaths in young trout.

The IPN virus gets transmitted from infected fishes to uninfected fishes, and from parent fishes to their offspring fishes. Unfortunately, there has been no demonstrated cure for IPN virus and thus the Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis ailment still remains unaddressed in fishes.
