New Global Broadband Satellite Access solution from Verizon

Verizon has launched the Global Broadband Satellite Access solution, reselling satellite phone equipment and time for businesses that don't find cellular quite stable enough. Verizon Business' satellite plans are much more expensive than cellular, this is in fact a backup solution that the customers will actually use to send small chunks of data, such as ATM card numbers and pulse rates.

Sometimes the cellular network is down such as during overloaded or just plain absent. The new solution, which uses modems on the Inmarsat network that covers 85 percent of the globe, gives companies a reliable backup to their cellular data service.
