Epizootic hemorrhagic - Deadly Deer disease spreads out
Came to know that Epizootic hemorrhagic disease which is a deadly deer disease that is spread by insects called biting midges was confirmed in tests on two dead deer in Beaver County.
Came to know that even though EHD is not infectious to humans, deer displaying severe symptoms of EHD are usually not suitable for consumption, as expressed and informed by the game commission.
Infected deer might stop eating and become emaciated. They usually die within 5 to 10 days. Deer with the disease are usually lethargic, have blood coming from the nose and mouth and have swollen blue tongues.
