1W Eden CPU for embedded applications from VIA

Came to know that VIA Technologies is about to introduce a new addition to its Eden ULV (ultra low voltage) processor lineup, the company announced at a press conference yesterday (Aug 16).

Several IPC makers including Advantech have already adopted the new Eden ULV processor and products are expected to begin appearing on the market later this month.

The new CPU adopts the typical VIA V4 bus and 21mm × 21mm nanoBGA2 packaging as other Eden models, but sets itself apart offering a 500MHz core frequency at a power consumption of only 1W.
