Legislation to close Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility
U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein has introduced a legislation to close the Department of Defense detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, and this has been suggested to be completed and accomplished within only one year of the bill’s enactment.
All detainees at the facility shall be removed and transferred to a civilian or military facility in the country of united states of america and charged with a violation of U.S. or international law for prosecution in a civilian or military proceeding.
it has been informed that there are roughly 750 individuals suspected of being either Taliban fighters or al Qaeda irregulars have been sent to Guantanamo Bay. About 350 are there today as reported.
