Electronic Tolls introduced by Indiana

A war along the border might force some Illinois drivers to pay more to use the toll road while Illinois and Indiana are stuck in a tollway fight.

On June 25, Indiana is here to join hands with the system allowing drivers to pay using transponders like those Illinois uses. But some say it won't be as cheap or as easy as the system in Illinois.

A spokesperson from Indiana Toll Road questions how Illinois could ever consider turning its back on Indiana drivers. They say they've shown good faith in offering a discount with a minimal amount of effort required to sign up.

The two sides on either side are still under the process of negotiation. Discounts on the Indiana Toll Road won't apply until the system is up and running statewide. That's scheduled for sometime after November.
